New Tesla Semi order of five trucks is placed by first U.S. furniture retailer

As more and more people start to believe in ‘sustainability’ and a ‘green future’ for our next generations, the electric vehicle sales are increasing day by day and Tesla is at the forefront of this mission.

In addition to previous 598 Tesla Semi reserved in total a new 5 trucks reservation is placed by a Furniture manufacturer from Southwest Florida. City Furniture is a 45 year old business in FL who now believes in sustainable transportation.

The furniture company ordered the Tesla Semi trucks on ‘Earth Day’ to celebrate the occasion with a practical step in saving our planet.

It’s great to see smaller companies and individuals taking interest in Tesla’s all-electric semi trucks in addition to corporate clients like FedEx, PepsiCo, Bee’ah, Budweiser and several more (full list and number of orders here).

Since the cost of a Tesla Semi is $180,000 with a reservation cost of $20,000 — placing a 5 truck order alone is a $100,000 deposit and the total cost touching $900,000 which doesn’t make the order too small at all.

City Furniture happily announced their Tesla Semi reservation on Twitter in the following tweet.

Since their first test run from Gigafactory 1 in Nevada to Tesla Fremont car factory in California, prototype Tesla Semi trucks are seen at several corporate clients like PepsiCo and Budweiser (Anheuser-Busch) for demonstration and display purposes.

Additionally Tesla Semi trucks powered by four Tesla Model 3 motors seems to easily tow the loaded trailer and even on-ramp performance of the electric hauler seems impressive in these videos.

Earlier this month TCI Transportation, a California based rental and logistics company also placed a 50 Tesla Semi trucks order.
