Tesla Roadster going Back To The Future

Interesting VFX shows 2020 Tesla Roadster going ‘Back To The Future’ in ludicrous mode

VFX artist Jorge Garcia created some cool ‘Back To The Future’ effects on a 2020 Tesla Roadster where Tesla’s Chief Designer Franz Von Holzhausen is leaving the Tesla Semi and Roadster unveil event last year.

The original video (also below) shows Franz leaving the event and waving at the Tesla enthusiasts and fans when he suddenly puts the next-gen Tesla Roadster prototype in ‘Ludicrous Mode’, with an estimated 0-60 mph time of 1.9 seconds, the acceleration here is a thing to look at.

When in production 2020 Tesla Roadster will be the fastest production car ever made, beating every racing stat with a big margin, a $3.4 million Bugatti Chiron does 0-60 mph in 2.5 seconds at it’s best.

Tesla Model S P100D in Ludicrous+ mode is already on the 2nd top spot with 2.28 seconds 0-60 mph time just after the 2.2 seconds time of Porsche 918 Spyder (see entire list), according to Elon Musk the 0-60 mph in 1.9 seconds for the next-gen Roadster will be for the base model, higher-end variant will ‘even better’!

The classic ‘Back To The Future’ DeLorean effect at 88 mph seems a bit slow for the 2020 Tesla Roadster’s Ludicrous mode — the Roadster needs even less energy than the 1.21 gigawatts required for the DeLorean for time travel.

First-generation Tesla Roadster was the ground-breaking electric vehicle that proved to the world that EVs can be practical and fun too, the next-gen Tesla Roadster is taking this to a whole new level with its power and performance, imagine traveling 620+ miles (~1,000 km) on a single charge, that’s the future of electric cars.

Tesla has initially developed three prototype Tesla Roadsters in White, Red and Gray (Midnight Silver Metallic) colors but it seems to be that the Red one is the only functional prototype, the other two vehicles are just a design shell for display purposes.

To admire the beauty of the next-gen Tesla Roadster, you need to look at the 3D renders of the electric supercar in multiple colors we posted last week.

Let’s look at the original video where Franz Von Holzhausen is driving out of the Tesla Semi even in Ludicrous Mode — drag race enthusiasts will have some pretty interesting stuff to look at in a couple of years.

The car actually seems to make a shooting sound when floored, did you hear it? what you think of it, let us know in the comments section below.
