Tesla Model 3 Canada VINs

Tesla has started assigning VINs to Canadian Model 3 orders

After two rounds of massive Model 3 configuration invites, Canadians have now started getting VINs for their orders. First Canadian Tesla Model 3 VIN (27XXX – screenshot below) is reported by ‘u/vidya_sagar’ from the Tesla Motors Club forum last week.

Several other Canadian reservation holders with orders placed and down payment made are now getting VIN assigned to their order in addition to the RN (Reservation Number).

Things have been moving fast for the Canadian reservation holders starting from Tesla Model 3 getting the eligibility status for $14,000 in Ontario, getting large number of configuration invites about two weeks ago and Model 3s starting to appear at Tesla showrooms all over the country now the VINs.

After the VIN assignment, customers are advised to keep their calm until they get a call from Tesla for delivery date confirmation. The speed at which things are moving for the Canadians might make American reservation holders jealous as a lot of them are still waiting to get their configuration invite.

Several other Tesla customers from Canada have also confirmed of getting their Tesla Model 3 VIN on Twitter such as the following thread by Model 3 Owners Club.

Tesla‘s strategy of getting as many Tesla Model 3 EVs to Canada before the election seems to be working as the expected next Ontario government does not believe in providing an EV incentive with taxpayer’s money.

On the other hand Tesla is stretching the time to reach 200,000 units produced that will mark the end of Federal tax incentive on all of their vehicles — the Washington State incentive is already phasing out on May 31, not sure if Tesla has a plan for Washington as well.
