Nissan Leaf added to police patrol fleet in Fukuoka, Japan

Fukuoka, Japan — 22 Nissan Leaf electric cars are added to the traffic police patrol of the city a day earlier. A ceremony took place (video below) for handing over the cars to the city police but not a lot of details are revealed as the only information we could find was the video description’s Google translation.

However it’s great news that city governments are taking EVs seriously for crime control, other cities around the world like Ontario, Los Angeles and Denver are using Tesla Model S and X as part of the police patrol.

The video description says;

As a public relations enlightenment support car (so-called “blue pato”) responsible for crime prevention in each region of Fukuoka prefecture, we used a total of 22 new Nissan Leafs at the Fukuoka Traffic Safety Association all together. The association-sponsored “Blue Pato departure ceremony” was held as the 4/3 spring traffic safety campaign began.

2nd Generation Nissan Leaf also won ‘2018 World Green Car’ at the New York International Auto Show earlier this month but is facing a rapid charging issue popularly known as ‘RapidGate‘.
