Rimac Nevera totally overpowers the Ferrari SF90 in a drag race battle

Rimac Nevera vs. Ferrari SF90 Stradale getting ready for the drag race.

“There’s always a bigger fish” — this dialogue from Star Wars is a universal truth actually — if Ferrari was thinking the 1,000 hp SF90 Stradale was enough, we have the 1,914 hp Rimac Nevera electric hypercar.

CarWow from YouTube was the first from the media to get their hands on the latest Rimac Nevera EV and they justified the privilege by making the right use of this powerhouse, putting it in a drag race battle against a V8 engine Ferrari.

However, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale is a PHEV with a tiny 7.9 kWh battery pack, this revealed upon us when we were researching for an SF90 Stradale vs. Tesla Roadster comparison a couple of years ago. Ferrari SF90 also has electric motors to deliver torque to the wheels as soon as possible — but all these tools did not match the intensity and sheer power of the Nevera.

Considering all that, I will still give 10/10 to the Ferrari SF90 in the beauty department, the looks of the Nevera get 7 out of 10 from me. Let’s look at some performance specs comparison of both cars before jumping to the drag race video.

The interesting thing about the Rimac Nevera acceleration off the line is that it does not need a launch control system to exert full power, just floor the acceleration pedal to the max to get the max performance.

On the other hand, the Ferrari SF90 Stradale being basically an internal combustion engine (ICE) car, needs a launch control mode that requires 5 seconds to fully warm-up for a drag race.

Rimac has delivered a tremendous performance machine and it’s not an exclusive car, the automaker is all geared up to produce 1 car per week starting in a few months from now as per CEO Mate Rimac.

It is also the first time I have seen a CEO of an automotive company starring in a drag race video himself, driving his own product, Mate has done it in this video which speaks volumes about the confidence he has in his creation.
