Tesla Model 3 AWD vs. BMW M2 Competition real-world driving experience comparison

Tesla Model 3 vs. BMW M2 driving experience comparison

The topic of comparing the Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Electric Vehicles (EVs) is becoming hotter with each passing day as the world transitions to the new sustainable electric drivetrain that is giving tough competition to the old school.

Throttle House recently compared a Tesla Model 3 Long Range Dual-Motor All-Wheel Drive against a BMW M2 Competition Coupe in a new way, not in a drag race or features and specifications comparison but in terms of feel, driving-pleasure, interior design and overall experience of the vehicle.

This video review is different in many ways, not very intense but serene done in a fun and interesting way.

This comparison review will certainly help petrolheads evaluate the true advantages of the electric cars in a day to day driving experience from an ICE vehicle enthusiast’s perspective.

Both of these cars fall under the price range of $60,000 but Tesla Model 3 is a 4-door sedan and the BMW M2 is a 2-door coupe — falling in the same price category but not for the purpose they were built for.

Let’s go over some performance specs of both vehicles below to have a clearer picture of the capabilities they posses.

Hearing praise for the Tesla Model 3‘s performance and experience from a pure gasoline car lover is the sign of obvious change — and much credit goes to Tesla for bringing electric cars to the mainstream and the ones that don’t look ugly as most other manufacturers like to design them.

BMW’s ‘M’ cars are their performance variants of the relevant series and this small and the M2 Competition being a subcompact coupe holds much power under the hood, therefore it’s 0.5 seconds faster than the Model 3 AWD, but the video review misses a Tesla Model 3 Performance version that would be a closer comparison.

Tesla Model 3 Performance with a 0-60 mph time under 3.3 seconds is giving tough calls to even larger more expensive cars at the drag race circuits like the McLaren 570S and Camaro SS — but today it’s not about a 1/4 mile drag, it’s about the emotion your car creates for you every day.
