Nissan Leaf wins “2018 World Green Car” at the New York Auto Show

As the press/media only days (28-29 Mar) end at the New York International Auto Show — the ‘World Car Of The Year’ awards concluded by announcing several top vehicles as winners in different categories.

2018 Nissan Leaf which was already well received in the EV community at large now have won the auspicious “2018 World Green Car” award at the show which is host to 1 million visitors and many others watching through media and internet.

Only after 1 year of it’s launch the all-electric Nissan Leaf won the “2011 Word Car Of The Year” award at the same event — the first and only electric car to win the award in the history of the show.

Daniele Schillaci, Executive Vice President, Global Marketing and Sales, Zero Emission Vehicle and Battery Business; Chairman of Management Committee for Japan/A&O (JapanAsia, Oceania Business); Nissan Motor Co., Ltd. said at the award ceremony;

We’re very proud that since Nissan LEAF launched in 2010, we’ve been able to put more than 300,000 zero-emission electric vehicles on the road worldwide, helping to reduce carbon footprints around the globe.

We’re honored to be recognized by this esteemed jury and proud to continue to expand the vision of Nissan Intelligent Mobility.

Nissan truly has improved a lot in the design arena for the 2nd generation Leaf — a sleek front and enhanced rear lights design with a more aerodynamic shape overall has garnered serious attention from potential customers this year.
