Tesla Model 3: Now you can zoom and rotate the driving visualizations (2019.28.3.7)

After our initial report on the latest Tesla firmware update (2019.28.3.7) which has the latest driving visualization animations for the Navigate on Autopilot (NoA) and Autopilot (AP) display on the center touchscreen, the new ‘zoom-in’ and ‘rotate view’ features were discovered.

Tesla driving visualizations updated in the 2019.28.3.7 can now be pinch and zoomed-in with two fingers like on a mobile device as we can see in the following video demo by @dollarn9ne, in addition to the zoom feature the driver/user can also rotate the view of the visuals.

This couple of new features were silently released with the latest over-the-air software updates by Tesla (TSLA), but the 28.3.7 update is still only deployed to a handful of Tesla Model 3, S and X owners.

The new zoom and rotate features are not limited to when the NoA or Autopilot is engaged, these work in the normal driving mode except when the car is in Park.

The zoom and rotate function is only possible on the Tesla Model 3 cars as Model S and X driving visualization display is on the instrument cluster which is not a touchscreen.

Tesla is in full preparations to release a major fleet-wide software upgrade from Version 9 (V9) to V10 and according to Elon Musk, this is pushed 4 to 8 weeks further due to safety testing of the ‘Enhanced Summon‘ feature but Tesla seems to be constantly unfolding small new features before the next sizable update.

These new minor improvements have a good refreshing feel to the overall driving experience which traditional automakers fail to achieve, you have to buy a new model car to enjoy new features but not in the Tesla universe.
