Watch: Tesla releases Model 3 ‘how-to-use your car’ walkthrough videos

Apr 23, 2018 | by Iqtidar Ali

Not sure about you but I have seen these videos for the first time — Tesla has released helpful short video clips (watch them below) on how to use your Model 3 features like the Key Card, Phone Key, Autopark, Enhanced Autopilot, Mobile App, Front Trunk (also called the ‘Frunk’), Gear Selection, Charging and Charging Adapters.

This is a great short guide specially for Model 3 owners who have not previously used a Tesla but the Key Card functionality is specific to Tesla Model 3 as the car is made with ‘ride sharing’ in mind.

Enjoy the videos and learn how to use your brand new Tesla Model 3 EV.

Gear Selection

The following video shows how to put your Model 3 in ‘Reverse’ and ‘Drive’ gears as for an electric-vehicle and a Tesla, the gear selection is a bit different from the traditional ICE vehicles.

Enhanced Autopilot

Tesla’s electric cars are equipped with world’s most advanced driver-assist system called the ‘Autopilot‘.

Tesla Model 3 has the 2nd generation of Autopilot Hardware installed on the vehicle with eight cameras and several radars and sensors for the best experience and safety but the video also mentions ‘eyes on the road, hands on the wheel’ — watch and learn how to use it.

Front Trunk (Frunk)

A trunk in the front is a unique feature for electric cars as there is no big noisy engine in the front and Tesla Model 3 has ample space there for your storage needs — take a look and see how you can utilize this useful compartment.

Mobile App

Tesla Model 3 Mobile App allows you to monitor your vehicle’s charging progress and set the cabin temperature remotely — see how it works in the short walkthrough video below.

Phone Key

You can use your phone to unlock your Tesla Model 3 as you approach towards your car and start driving if you have paired your phone’s bluetooth with the car’s.

Keycard

Ride sharing is made easy for the Tesla Model 3 with the keycard and it also works as a backup key for your car — watch how it works (scan on the B-pillar to unlock and again scan on the console to drive).

Charging

This short walkthrough video shows how and where you can charge your Tesla Model 3.

Charging Adapters

You can charge your Tesla Model 3 at any charging station using the charging adapter(s) that Tesla has provided you with the car.

Autopark

Let your Tesla Model 3 park itself when you’ve found a good parking spot but as the video suggests ‘stay alert and be prepared to take action at any time’. The video shows only ‘Parallel Autopark’ but I am sure Model 3 can perform a ‘Perpendicular Autopark’ too.
