Tesla Model 3 deliveries: 50 trucks left from Zeebrugge, first ship with RHDs from Philly reaches Europe

Tesla Model 3 deliveries in the European and UK region are speeding up, reportedly 50 car carrier trailers loaded with European LHD Model 3s left the Port of Zeebrugge, Belgium yesterday.

According to the sources close to the Port of Zeebrugge, each truck’s carrier is loaded with 7 Tesla Model 3s, that equates to approx. 350 cars leaving the port in a single day.

@LucWaterLot took a beautiful panoramic picture of the Tesla trailer carriers from outside the ZEE, that shows tons of Model 3 EVs getting ready to be sent to Tesla Stores around Europe, according to him all of these cars were left-hand-drive (LHDs).

The reason for differentiating Europe/UK is based on the position of the steering wheel/side of the road they drive on, Europe cars are LHD same as the United States while UK is RHD, this is why they started getting deliveries almost two years late.

In addition to this, the first vehicle transport vessel carrying RHD Model 3s has just reached the Port of Zeebrugge from the Port of Philadelphia (PhilaPort) in the United States.

It was just end of last month when we reported about Tesla moving RHD Model 3s to Philly and according to our estimation it would take 12-15 days to reach Zeebrugge, here we are after about 19 days, the first ship has moored at the ZEE dock.

The Port of Philadelphia endorsed our report by retweeting the article from the authority’s official website, this is one of the many ships that will be reaching Europe faster from PhilaPort, giving boost to the Q4, 2019 delivery numbers along with massive deliveries happening right now in China.

A ship of this size is estimated to contain anywhere from ~2,400 to 4,000 cars, Tesla Model 3s being electric vehicles are a bit heavier than the same class ICE sedans due to the heavy battery pack, therefore, we might expect a number around ~3,000 on the ship.

The RHD UK Tesla (TSLA) customers should see a surge in deliveries within the next couple of weeks as the latest ship is expected to contain mostly RHD Model 3s.

Update: Tesla has moved a large ship filled with Model 3s to Amsterdam — Netherlands deliveries are going to accelerate as well.
